Hello everyone, and thanks for taking a look at this weeks blog post! I would like to start by apologizing to each of you for the delay in clan activities and the extremely long post today. I think things are finally coming to a close for my summer, and I am looking forward to the Battlefield 4 release!
Today we are going to announce the winners of the [AK907] Battlefield 4 Pre-Order Giveaway (albeit a little late…), the winners of the two [AK907] Weekly Clan Events since our last update, updates from the [AK907] Clan Meeting, the [AK907] Clan Server, as well as updates about Battlefield 4!
*** Please join us tomorrow, Thursday, the 22nd of August, between 4 PM and 11 PM Central Time on our TeamSpeak server so we can pwn the battlefield together! ***
[AK907] BF4 Giveaway Winners
The [AK907] BF4 Giveaway was a great contest for us to put on to try and draw interest into the clan. Fortunately it did not draw so much attention that we were overwhelmed with entries, and the Battlefield 4 Pre-Order was given away to a clan member! Unfortunately, we did not have that overwhelming influx of visitors and new signups that we were all hoping for, but all’s well that ends well! There were a total of 9 people playing for a chance to win the BF4 Pre-Order copy, so the chances would have been exponentially better for each of you, if you would have put a few minutes into the clan and got a few more “tokens”.
Gr0wzy won the fame, but R00ster got the prize
Gr0wzy received the MOST entry tokens, with 8 total (2 Participation is KEY, 2 Winner Winner Chicken Dinner, 2 Post Whore, 2 Social Nightmare). Congratulations also to Gr0wzy who won the first draw from the hat (A big thank you to my son, Lonnie, for drawing the names from the hat) and won the [AK907] BF4 Pre-Order Giveaway! After the excitement wore down, a couple of clan members stepped up to the plate and offered to purchase another copy for the contest, and we ended up giving another copy away that night! Congratulations to Richie (Lichie) for winning copy number 2 of the [AK907] BF4 Pre-Order Giveaway! Gr0wzy proceeded to give his winnings to TheGermanR00ster, as either way Gr0wzy would have to purchase the game for one of them. I did not expect this event to bring us together so much as a clan and really get some issues ironed out, as well as bring some other guys closer into the administration circle. I want to say thank you to everyone that participated in this event, and thank you to everyone of the [AK907] Clan Members for all of the effort they’ve made to keep things going around here!
The OFFICIAL [AK907] BF4 Pre-Order Giveaway Winners are:
Thanks again for playing guys, and stay tuned, because our next giveaway is right around the corner (literally)!!
[AK907] Weekly Clan Event Winners
During the above contest, we had two of the [AK907] Weekly Clan Events – they were actually integrated into the contest itself and provided some additional “excuses” to play Battlefield 3. 🙂 The winner of the [AK907] Weekly Clan Event on June 20th, with the HIGHEST 3-GAME AVERAGE GENERAL SCORE of 10,585, 5,604, and 5,253 (totalling 50,582 General Score over 13 matches) was Gr0wzy! Congrats man – you won yourself 2 free entries to the BF4 Giveaway!
Congrats to this week’s winner: Gr0wzy!!!
The winner of the [AK907] Weekly Clan Event on June 27th, with the MOST KILL ASSIST of 11 total kill assist (in one round none the less, but it was Scavenger, so…) was TheGermanR00ster! Congrats man – you won yourself 2 free entries to the BF4 giveaway!
Congrats to this week’s winner: TheGermanR00ster!!!
Again, congratulations to the [AK907 Weekly Clan Event winners and thanks for making it a good contest!
[AK907] Clan Meeting Updates
This months clan meeting was mainly to pull winners from the BF4 Pre-Order Giveaway contest, announce them to the clan, and make the purchases for them, although we were able to discuss a few other clan items. Donations are due for many this month, and you are able to donate from the home page or by clicking the Donate button here:
Other items that were discussed were:
Usage of the TeamSpeak 3 server – Keep it up guys!
Usage of the Battlefield 3 server – We need to be on it more!
My new computer build (image of the beautifully lapped (by me) heatsink below – I have a guide on lapping CPU’s and heatsinks on the EVGA forums if you’re interested!)
Our next [AK907] Clan Contest
Shiny heatsink of my lapped, closed-loop, liquid CPU cooler
[AK907] Clan Battlefield 3 Server
Our dues for the Battlefield 3 server have been paid for the month of August, and I checked with our provider (Habitat4Gamers) to find out if they had any information about pricing for a Battlefield 4 server – they have no info for us yet. I also looked into obtaining our own [AK907] Clan Server from NFOServers, and I believe this is something we might consider doing one day, but with a monthly cost of $200, we cannot justify the expense right now. This may be something we can consider joining with a partner to do in the future though, and wouldn’t that be nice to have our own Battlefield server that we could run on our own (or lease slots out for)? Please keep the donations coming so we can keep paying for this server, and keep in mind that we have a Battlefield 4 server to pay for in a couple of months, so we may need to discuss minimum donation increase.
Battlefield 4 Updates
Well I’ve been keeping an eye out for updates regarding Battlefield 4, and finally got some new information!!!!
The biggest announcement has to be the details that were released regarding the Battlefield 4 Open Beta. The short of it is the beta will open “early October, 2013, for everyone”. You can read more about it here: http://www.battlefield.com/battlefield-4/faq/beta
There are also a few new videos out, and I HIGHLY suggest you take a look, so you can drool like me:
This video is the Battlefield 4: Official Premium Video, announcing BF4 premium, and what it will entail.
This video is the “Battlefield 4: Official “Paracel Storm” Multiplayer Trailer, and honestly is my favorite. It really “gets me going”, if ya know what I mean 😉
Additional details found either by the videos above, or by official EA announcements (trust me, you have to dig if you want some of this info):
The jets look highly futuristic but I can assure you that the one jet they did announce, the Chinese J-20 Stealth, is in fact a “real” jet. First takeoff was in January 201, and it is planned for service in 2017. No mention on what type of armament these jets will have, so I can’t tell you if they will have bombs yet or not. I will say that I think, air vehicles at the very least, will “run out of ammo” and you will have to fly over to your base to “rearm”.
PS4 and XB1 will both support 64 players, for the first time in console history for the Battlefield series! This is going to be a HUGE change to those of us that plan on playing on console, because now the experience will be virtually identical to the PC, however I’m betting the PC will still have better graphics. 🙂
Squads will definitely have 5 players now! YAY!
Mortars are getting redesigned for BF4, and the “new feature” is they will be remote-controlled, which will allow the support players to give indirect fire support while staying with the rest of the squad (this means no more going “lone wolf” if you plan on mortaring it up)!
Speaking of “lone wolf”, it’s going to be MIGHTY lonely for that wolf now with the “field upgrades” perks. You will get individual rewards for squad based team play performance. Meaning, you earn specializations through squad scores (such as healing, repairing, giving ammo, etc.) and completing objectives with your squad members. Really cool ideas that EA/DICE has here, and I think that they really outdid themselves trying to appease the community (which is never a bad thing for us).
Battlefield 4 – Paracel Storm (click to go to full resolution in the same window)
Lastly, suppression details that may make you drool… While suppression causes visual impairment, it will no longer impact the accuracy of your weapon. The way they’ve “gotten around” this is by adding a “sway effect” that makes aiming more difficult, but “with some skill you will find it possible to counteract”. Also, there will be no more suppression in close-quarters combat.
Another detail I noticed is that the ocean (or water effect) appears to be a much more accurate to real-life than Battlefield 3 was. For instance, in the multiplayer video you can see two boats on the ocean and one of them is riding high on the wave crest, while the other is in the wave valley. I really can’t wait to play this game!!!
Well that’s all I have for today. I do hope to start the weekly clan events up here in the next month or two, and please keep an eye out for another clan meeting in the coming few weeks. As always, if you are willing to help with the clan administration, please let me know! I could really use someone to help motivate and assist with research and writing.
Hey everyone, today’s blog post will consist of getting you guys up to date on the latest happenings surrounding the [AK907] Clan, along with some tidbits about Battlefield 4, the upcoming Clan Battlefield 4 Giveaway (Pre-Order), the discontinuing of our 48 slot server, and anything else I can think of whilst typing this post out. 🙂
[AK907] Clan Meeting
The [AK907] Clan Meeting will be on Sunday, June 2nd, starting at 9:00 PM, so mark that spot on your calendar! Here’s why you NEED to be there…
Battlefield 4’s China Rising DLC. Take a good look at this screenshot – I bet we will all be spending lots of time here!
We are going to be discussing the first Battlefield 4 Giveaway Pre-Order! For a detailed look at everything we’re going to be talking about, you can check the forum post here, but for now you need to know that this meeting will be setting the date(s) for the giveaway contest, the criteria you need to achieve eligibility to win the contest, and what we need to make this a quality gaming event! Along with those items, we will also discuss:
Battlefield 4 Giveaway (Pre-Order)
What will be the criteria for winning the prize?
Who is eligible to win (Donating Members only? Non-Donating Members? Non-Members?)
Dates and times?
Donations, expenses, and purchases
Since time on (seeding) the server will be a large part of the criteria needed to win the giveaway, we need to talk about what map rotation we are going to be running that will encourage [AK907] Clan Members to play on the [AK907] Clan server
Any other ideas we can think of to attract people to hop on our server!
Gr0wzy’s YouTube Videos
I’ve got a couple of recordings going and have uploaded two of them to the Mega upload site (credentials for the site are HERE), but need to upload another handful I’ve got
The videos need to be edited together to make a quality 30 second to 3 minute video that is entertaining

Weekly Clan Event
Obviously I have not had the time I need to coordinate these events the past month. Others have also showed interest in changing the day of the week for the weekly clan events from Thursday to another day. We would LOVE your input! Check the Facebook question here: https://www.facebook.com/questions/496896080375643/
Forums and Blog activity, posts, and comments
Anyone visited the home page of the blog or the forums lately?
Obviously we have quite a bit to discuss in the Clan Meeting and I hope we can cover it all. I also hope we have enough members/non-members/recruits join us to and give us some valuable feedback regarding all of the questions we have. Kaidok and Hassassin… It would be very valuable for you two to join us for the meeting and provide some feedback to me before we get started!
Other [AK907] Clan Stuff
Well things have been super crazy for me (personally) as of late and I just have not had the time or energy to put into the clan like I did 4 months ago, but I have been working on improving that and this post is proof of it. The [AK907] Clan will be losing one of its Battlefield 3 servers on the first of June. On top of that, we already lost our DoD:S server that was hosted by GameTracker/GameServers. We will still have CS:S, the 24 slot BF3 server, and our TeamSpeak 3 server, along with all of the hosting and everything – It was all just getting to be too much for one person to manage. Honestly, the [AK907] has access to a lot of resources and the management team has a canny ability to sniff out such resources and obtain them for little to no cost. It’s just getting to a point where we do not have the time to do it all on our own, and work a 50+ hour work week, and play Battlefield, and work on our own entrepreneurship or other endeavors in a given day/week.
That being said, we’ve had some renewed interest in the clan as of late. We’ve had several additional users on the TeamSpeak server and have continued to populate the Air Superiority server on a semi-regular basis – Honestly getting the AS server populated takes every bit of 15 minutes of sitting there and waiting for people to join – It’s not that hard! 😀 I usually end up adding the guys that chat on the AS server to my friends list and some of them have continued to play and join on “the crew” when we’re online. Super exciting to see a renewed interest like this!
Posting is probably going to be slowing down over the summer, but I will try to write some articles when I have the time to do so. If anyone else would like to give writing a shot, holler at me! It’s super easy! 😀
Battlefield 4 News
Well, it’s been a bit since I last posted about Battlefield 4, and a couple of new items to report on have arisen since my last post.
Battlefield 4 looks to have a much different environment than Battlefield 3 did – at least the graphics appear to be more ascetically pleasing.

Those who pre-order Battlefield 4 will receive the first, of many map packs, for free (Only the China Rising map pack will be free for those that pre-order)
The first map pack has been confirmed as titled “China Rising”
Additional goodies for those that pre-order
Additional items that you may receive for pre-ordering Battlefield 4 may include (but are not limited to)
The base game
The expansion pack China Rising
The BETA version of Battlefield 4 (rumored to be released fall of 2013)
There will be a Battlefield 4 Multiplayer Demo for us during E3 on June 10th, 2013 so we can check out the multiplayer aspects of the new Battlefield
Well that’s all I have for today… I would like to add that we had a pretty nice turn-out for last night’s “event” even though there wasn’t a challenge and no one technically “won”… I did change the home-page “winner” from R00ster to TwoSixTroy per a conversation we all had last night. I hope you enjoy!
Report back for the Clan Meeting on June 2nd at 9:00 PM! See you on the battlefield, SOLDIER!
Hello everyone, and thanks for taking a look! Today’s post is going to go over last week’s Clan Event winner, tonight’s weekly clan event, our Battlefield 4 Giveaway, and meeting news from this Sunday’s [AK907] Clan Meeting, so thanks for reading!
Last Sunday’s clan meeting went very well with about 8 people joining us for the meeting and providing great feedback about the questions we had!
During the meeting we were able to discuss financials, giveaways, server population, and YouTube videos.
[AK907] will be discontinuing the use of it’s 48 slot Battlefield 3 server at the end of this month and using the cost of that server toward purchasing Battlefield 4 for our members.
We will be giving away Battlefield 4 to our donating members, per the outcome of:
Server population (who is on the [AK907] Clan Server the most?) – 30-70%
In-Game (Battlefield 3) Goals (most headshots, or something along those lines) – 20-40%
Anything else we want to factor in? – Remaining percentage
Trying to populate the [AK907] Clan Server more with giveaways and a new map rotation for the 24 man server
If you record videos, we have obtained credentials for a Mega account and you can use them to upload your videos so Gr0wzy can edit them together. Please do your best to ensure these videos are at least preliminarily edited (meaning you’re only uploading the section of the videos that you want to be edited/merged with other Clan players). I’ve been using Microsoft’s Movie Maker to edit the AVI files output from Bandicam and have been cutting out all of the “in-between” stuff on my bad runs to get to the good ones. I believe AVIDemux is another one that could be used (free – GNU) Check the forum post here for the credentials to Mega.
Last Week’s Winner
Last week we had an ok event with 3 people stopping by for some kills. I thought I was going to take the win this time, but TheGermanR00ster came through and completely blew me out of the water in the realm of “General Score” with one game, and he played several like that!
Congrats to this week’s winner: TheGermanR00ster!!!
TheGermanR00ster ended up walking away with the week of fame (5th time he’s won – WOW!) after obtaining 59,165 General Score in just 7 GAMES! Congrats to you, R00ster, and the best of luck to everyone for this weeks event!
Tonight’s Clan Event
Tonight is going to be an interesting one for sure! I’m trying a new method of scoring and I’m hoping it gives us a little more flexibility in terms of determining a winner. Tonight’s challenge is to have the BEST 3-GAME AVERAGE KILLS between 4:00 PM and 11:00 PM tonight. The way this is going to be calculated I will be putting everyone’s KILLS for EACH GAME they play between the time frame into a spreadsheet. These kills are obtained by going to the players Battlelog page and clicking on EACH of the games they’ve played in the last 7 hours (11:00 PM minus 7 hours = 4:00 PM) and pulling their “Kills” from those reports. Then, my spreadsheet will take take the TOP THREE games for ALL of the players that were in TeamSpeak and averaging them (Add them all together and divide by 3). The player with the highest AVERAGE from their top 3 games will win this weeks event.
Make SURE you join us on TeamSpeak for our Weekly Clan Events, as this is the ONLY way you are entered for a chance to win the weekly prize of a week of fame on our [AK907] Clan home page. A reminder that this event is open to ANYONE who is on our Official TeamSpeak 3 server (not just clan members!), so click the TeamSpeak 3 picture below to join up!
Click to join the AK907 Clan TeamSpeak 3 server!
I think this new method of scoring will not only give me a chance to see how it will work and if it should be used in the future, but also I’m hoping it will “broaden the audience” so more people that enter have a chance to win. Instead of Gr0wzy and R00ster taking all the wins, and while there’s no problem with that at all, I just would like to see everyone that plays have a fair chance at winning. This way, if one person only hops online for 3 rounds, the people that are online from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM don’t just blow them completely out of the water.
Good luck to all for tonight’s event!
That’s all I have for today, but keep an eye out for news about the Battlefield 4 Pre-Order GIVEAWAY in the coming weeks.
Last night was an ok turnout, but I had to leave early due to some tiredness. My computer crashed at some point during the night too, so all I have record of is Dedaciai, Gr0wzy, R00ster, and myself. If there were others on TeamSpeak that played Battlefield 3 last night, let me know so I can check the scores, but either way I’m pretty sure R00ster took the winner. 🙂
Dedaciai and I hopped on the [AK907] servers for a few rounds and tried to get them going before we called it quits. We had some very nice AS rounds and ended up winning (albeit we started off loosing), which was a big relief. I checked the scores this morning and TheGermanR00ster completely decimated the competition in a single round worth over 2200 SQUAD SCORE points, which was more than everyone else added together. On top of that he played more rounds than anyone else in the given time frame, so this weeks prize goes to the R00ster! Congrats man!
Congrats to this week’s winner: TheGermanR00ster!!!
We need to get together and discuss ponying up some cash to pay for some BF4 Pre-Orders and figure out how that is going to work. I hope to aim for another clan meeting in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned for that!
That’s all for this week, but I hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend. We look forward to seeing you online for next weeks event, and if you have ideas about what the challenge should be let me know!
Last night we had another great clan event with several people hopping online to help get things going. I got all of the servers configured with the End Game map packs, and switched them up a little so they are running 24 Slot Air Superiority, 48 Slot Rush, and 18 Slot CTF (Hardcore). We actually had both RUSH and AS servers full last night, and that continued until well after midnight!
Clan Event Winner
Last night we had 5 people on TeamSpeak, so there were definitely enough people to determine a winner for this weeks clan event! Since KUCF has won twice in a row, he is not eligible to win this event, but that doesn’t matter anyways because he didn’t get very many air kills. Fortunately, I hopped on the AS server before anyone else got online and had a couple of ace rounds there before hopping over to the RUSH server and trying to get it populated. Eventually the rest of the crew got online and joined us on the Rush server, and then it started to get full! I ended up switching myself to the other team at first because they were loosing pretty bad, and I wanted to make sure they stuck around. That was a bad choice, because I only won 1 round last night because of that… 🙂 I will say that I did have a couple of really nice rounds as far as points go, but I think everyone else did too.
We ended up having some great rounds as far as points go, but only one person wins the event for tonight…
So Dedaciai hopped on for 3 rounds last night and ended up walking away with the prize due to getting 16 kills in one round (albeit most of them were my deaths)! Congrats to Dedaciai and we hope to see you online Sunday, and again next Thursday for the Weekly Clan Event!
This Sunday we’re going to do another one of these Clan Events and see who all is able to make it. The challenge will still be to obtain the MOST AIR KILLS between 4:00 PM and 11:00 PM, so make sure you join us on our TeamSpeak 3 server (AK907.NET) so you are eligible to win! It’s going to be difficult to showcase two players, but I believe I can accomplish this with another widget in WordPress, so we’ll give them a week of fame as well!
There has been lots of playing around with server settings trying to get quickmatch to work correctly, along with making sure the configuration is ideal and people want to come play on our servers. I think we finally have most of this figured out, but what I’ve found is that the crowd changes every few days. When End Game first came out, our CTF server was getting a lot of the attention (AS is always full!), but lately (past two/three days) it has died down, so yesterday we changed it over to Rush and got a full 48 slot server again. I think there will be lots of map and game mode changes to try and get something that everybody wants to join in on, but for right now we are going to leave things as they are and see what happens.
Congrats to this week’s winner: Dedaciai!!!
That’s all I have for this week, but make sure you join us this Sunday as well as next Thursday for our Weekly Clan Event! Also, check out our forums as registration is now open (but SEVERELY restricted until I approve and authorize the account, so use a familiar nickname) and anyone can register! I have been monitoring spam attempts, and we get several of them a day, but so far they have been thwarted!
Last Thursday we had a great time with a couple people showing up for the Weekly Clan Event and then again on Sunday when some of the clan members came together for our first Clan Meeting, and then comes End Game with Air Superiority!
Thursday’s Clan Event Winner
Well, last Thursday we had another 7 hours of gaming and fun times. Unfortunately, only one person signed up in the forums, so the victor again is KUCF – Congrats man! I don’t have any screenshots or any other information to throw regarding last week’s clan event, but stay tuned for this week’s event because it’s bound to be fun times in happy town since the End Game released in the US today.
Sunday’s Clan Meeting
Sunday’s clan meeting was definitely healthy. I am glad to report that we are going to be keeping the 48 slot server at 48 slots, though at times that player count may change to conform to the “Quickmatch requirements” needed to try and get our server going. There’s a final report and follow-up regarding that meeting that has been posted here for everyone’s enjoyment: http://forums.ak907.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=167 (My notes are in RED in the second post in this thread)
Battlefield 3’s End Game was released today including two new, original, game modes: CTF and Air Superiority Join the AK907 Clan Thursday on TeamSpeak for a chance to win big with Air Kills!
Dedaciai purchased a 24 slot Air Superiority-ONLY server for the clan for the rest of the month of March (Thanks Dedaciai!!!). I am happy to report that the server has been full most of the day now, and there has even been a queue for it at times! I have changed the 48 slot server over to CTF-ONLY as of about lunch time today. We’ll let this roll for a little while and see how well the CTF mode is taken. If things aren’t picking up for us in a couple days, we should probably switch it over to 24/7 CQ Large on the End Game maps and see how that’s taken.
48 Slot End Game CTF:
24 Slot End Game Air Superiority:
(If you are looking for the [AK907] Clan Battlefield 3 servers, type “AK907” in the search box to find them!)
There was an additional patch that was released with the Battlefield 3: End Game map pack that fixed a couple of items on EA/DICE’s list. Here’s a brief overview of those fixes:
TV-missile should no longer be able to blow up the chopper shooting the missile (YAY!!!)
Fixed proximity defense on mobile artillery and increased proximity defense radius
Scavenger ticket count increased (by double)
Enabled player movement on Gun Master pre-rounds
Improved the position of the repair torch on the screen when repairing vehicles – it works now
Fix the issue where AT mines would count as vehicle kills
Fix an issue where player camera would flip 180 degrees if the player was revived in water
Added ticket status at the end of round screen for Scavenger
This Thursday’s Weekly Clan Event is sure to be fun times, so be sure to join us in TeamSpeak for your chance to win a week (or two!) of fame on our home page! This week’s challenge will, obviously, be to get the MOST AIR KILLS in light of the Air Superiority game mode that was released today. Be sure to hop on our TeamSpeak server between 4:00 PM and 11:00 PM Central Time to get your pwn on!
That’s all I have for today, but I look forward to seeing you online to help get the servers going every day this week! 🙂
Thursday night’s clan event winner is discussed as well as End Game and the [AK907] Clan Meeting on Sunday.
[AK907] Clan Meeting
Next week is going to be a big week for [AK907] as we are going to be
Meeting Sunday to determine several factors about the clan as well as core members
Increasing the player count from 26 to 48 slots on our Chicago server
Switching the 48 man server to CTF-ONLY (on the 12th)
Purchasing an additional 24 slot Air Superiority-ONLY server (implemented on the 12th)
I don’t know how to say this without sounding like a complete douche, but it is imperative that you join us on Sunday for the clan meeting. Even if you do not have anything to give, your opinion still matters to me and I would appreciate if everyone that has been on the TeamSpeak server in the past 6 months join us on Sunday to talk about things. The agenda for the meeting can be found here (http://forums.ak907.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=167) but the items I will be discussing are going to be brief and I will try to finish my topics as quickly as possible so I can address each of the people that join us for the meeting.
Last Night’s Winner
Last night I got online a little later than normal due to me being behind on a lot of things because of my move last week and my vehicle problems. I did catch up with a bunch of stuff and hop on the [AK907] Clan Battlefield 3 Server and try to get it going for us. After sitting in the map rotation that the clan voted on for about 2 hours with no one joining the server, I decided to change things up a bit and re-implement the GunMaster/Domination rotation. Sure enough, shortly after switching the maps to a Domination game mode, the server started receiving players. We managed to gather about 8-10 people online last night, and with 200% tickets we were able to hang on to most of those players through several maps until well after 11:00 PM.
Congrats to this week’s winner: KUCF!!!
A big shout out to =365=X1101110266 for hopping on the server later last night and helping to maintain the player count! The =365= Insomnia Clan has pledged their assistance in helping the [AK907] Clan get going and with any questions we may have about clan related items. They have also offered to assist us in getting our server started, if we find we desperately need the help. 🙂 That being said, I would like to say “thank you” to everyone in the =365= Insomnia Clan for being so welcoming to us, and specifically for allowing me to ask the questions I’ve asked and to play on the =365= server without worrying about pissing people off. THANK YOU!
That being said, there was a sign-up in the forums last night for the weekly clan event, but since I’ve had such a rough week and only one person signed up for the event, I decided to change the event to “no sign-up required” for yesterday only, and to just work off of the people that hopped on the TeamSpeak server. This is going to be something that is discussed in the clan meeting on Sunday as well. Even given that I was going off of the TeamSpeak list, there was only 3 people (including myself) that were online for the clan event yesterday. After the dust settled and the kills were counter, it was determined that this weeks clan event winner was KUCF with a total of 116 kills! Congrats man, and good luck to everyone for next weeks event!!!
Battlefield 3: End Game
The End Game map pack has been released for Premium PS3 players, and while I haven’t downloaded and started playing it on my PS3 yet, I have read several reviews that have only gotten me more excited for this release! What has really got my goat is this video:
Specifically the first 25 seconds of it. I’m not gonna lie. I’m pretty turned on from watching it again. I have read quite a bit about what EA/DICE was trying to accomplish with this final release and it definitely sounds like they have succeeded in what they were trying to accomplish. Their goal for End Game was to use the Fostbite 2 Engine to render 4 distinctly different seasons across 4 different maps:
Kiasar Railroad with it’s spring setting offering players a vast landscape with, as the name suggests, a railroad cutting through it creates a simple yet effective crossroad layout
Nebandan Flats is the summer settings with a low and very flat desert location offering players capture points centered around small groups of buildings to take cover in
Operation Riverside offers a “tangle of rural pathways leading down to a chaotic jumble of buildings”, including a river as a natural boundary and plenty of buildings to use as cover
Finally, Sabalan Pipeline with the winter season, that takes place in a snow-covered oil refinery with each capture point built around lots of cover
What’s obvious about these maps is they are definitely Battlefield maps with a familiar feel, not catering to a particular style of gameplay such as the CQD maps. The End Game map packs also bring back to Battlefield the original CTF and Air Superiority game modes which are bound to liven things up for a while until Battlefield 4 is released.
One of the most exciting items coming with End Game is the new DropShip, which is a C-130 Hercules that has the ability to drop vehicles into much-needed locations:
Dropship: A new vehicle that will be coming with the Battlefield 3 End Game map pack.
That’s all I have for today. Congratulations to KUCF for the win this week (second week in a row, so someone new has to win next week), and I look forward to seeing you all online Sunday at 9:00 PM (Central) for the [AK907] Clan Meeting.
Have a great weekend, and see you on the battlefield, SOLDIER!
Last night’s winner is announced along with some key information about the AK907 Battlefield 3 servers!
Thursday Night’s Clan Event
Last night we had several hours of great gaming, we filled up the [AK907] Clan Battlefield 3 Server (and had 2 people in the queue even after we all called it a night!), and we ended up with one winner for the night’s clan event.
The [AK907] clan TeamSpeak server had a high number of users on it as well, and we even had one of the guys that rented us our Battlefield 3 server hop on with us!
Last night there was enough people on TeamSpeak and the AK907 Battlefield 3 server to get it started. Here’s a snapshot of the TeamSpeak server last night.
We all ended up playing more rounds that I wanted to count on the [AK907] Clan Battlefield 3 server and had a lot of fun pwning newbs! The server is running a Scavenger/GunMaster game mode rotation on the Aftermath maps since it seems that rotation draws in the most amount of people the quickest.
Congratulations to the winner of Thursday Night’s Clan Event, with a total of 280 Team Score points, Dedaciai! Good luck to everyone, and save up your medals, for next week’s challenge to obtain the HIGHEST AWARD SCORE between 4:00 PM and 11:00 PM!
Congrats to this week’s winner: Dedaciai!!!
[AK907] Battlefield 3 Server
That rotation will change next week when we have the map rotation ironed out from the votes that are received via the survey. Only the top selected maps and rotations (no matter how many) will be selected for the [AK907] server rotation. I think we are going to have to refine the rotation until we have something that everyone likes playing on.
I’ve written a couple of posts for the clan members to use for administrating the Battlefield 3 server. They are basic commands that all donating members have access to, and you can check the sticky topics out here: http://forums.ak907.net/viewforum.php?f=4
These posts do NOT have the Admin Fundamentals in them, which would describe how to determine the punishment for a given crime on our server. Until these fundamentals are written and posted, please use extreme discretion when using the admin tools on other players. Put yourself in that person’s shoes and ask yourself “does this really deserve punishment?” We do NOT want to drive people away from the server!!!
I have installed TrueBalancer BF3 and enabled the skill balancer, so teams should be balanced according to skill and size. Please let me know by posting in the forums if there are any problems with this balancer and I will either correct the problem or disable the balancer and search for another one.
That’s all for this week, but make sure you check back in next week for a few more posts and Thursday’s Clan Event! And try to get our server going, it doesn’t take much so just hop on and wait for other people to show up. If you wait long enough, they will come!
Thursday night was another great night full of Battlefield love. Several members hopped on throughout the night for 7 hours of complete pwnage.
We started out playing some Scavenger on Hostile Takeover, moved over to some HT:CQD, played a LOT of Conquest Large and Conquest Assault, and finished on a few Rush rounds last night. We won almost everything we were all on the same team for (the hardest part about these clan events is getting everyone on the same team!), but some of us did lose a couple of rounds because we were split up. Personally, I had a LOT of fun in the choppa on the Gulf of Oman, and can’t wait to do it again!
Dedaciai got “hung up” while he was SOFLAMing in the scout choppa with me and got shot out onto the hood of the choppa! I had to take a screenshot, and barely caught it, but here it is 🙂 :
Dedaciai got shot out of the choppa, but ended up on my hood for some reason – I had to screenshot it!
As for last night’s challenge, it was a pretty close one. I thought about calculating the score several different ways before finally deciding that I would just stick with the “highest general score in the given timeframe” standard. The winner of last night’s event, with 98,326 General Score, was Gr0wzy, for the second week in a row! Congrats to Gr0wzy and the best of luck to the new winner of next week’s challenge (since no single player can win the event more than twice in a row)!
Congrats to this week’s winner: Gr0wzy!!!
Just for grins, I figured I would post the spreadsheet so everyone could see how close of a challenge this one was (it really could have gone to about 4 people if we would have just played a couple of rounds more than Gr0wzy)!
That’s all I have for this time, but please join us next Thursday for another 7 hours of fun and pwnage! I’m not sure what next weeks challenge will be just yet, but I will post something on it next week.
Until next time, see you on the battlefield, SOLDIER!
Last night the AK907 Clan had a great turnout with 6 people competing for fame on the AK907 Clan home page, and of course bragging rights! Only one person came away a winner though…
Since we weren’t playing close-combat all night, there was almost a tie… But one person came through and broke the tie, and then proceeded to double the amount of grenade kills that anyone else had. We tried almost every game mode that Battlefield 3 offers though, and I will say the variety was a welcome change from our standard CQD pwnage. The first server we all hopped on was a mix of GG and Scavenger on the AM maps, and it was great fun, but with 5 level 100’s on the opposing team, it was kind of difficult for us to gain the high-ground and give them a run. We ended up dumping that server and hopped on some CQD for a couple of rounds before switching over to straight CQ to try some vehicle play, then someone mentioned it would be difficult to get grenade kills while riding around in a vehicle, so we finished out the night with four rounds of Rush on Operation Metro. We ended up putting a couple of smart-asses in their place on the Rush server too, which is what they get for talking trash. 🙂
No Level 100!
Congrats to the winner of last night’s event, with a total of 8 grenade kills beating out anyone else by at least double, is Gr0wzy!
Congrats to this week’s winner: Gr0wzy!!!
Next week the challenge will be to have the HIGHEST GENERAL SCORE between 4:00 PM and 11:00 PM Central Time, so be sure to join us on our TeamSpeak server for a chance to win!
That’s all for this week, but be sure to check back next week for more info about next week’s Weekly Clan Event, and don’t forget to join us next Thursday for at least 7 hours of pwnage during the Double XP Premium Event for February!
See you on the battlefield, SOLDIER!
